On the surface the company appeared successful, but it lacked a solid foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Some of the issues: decreasing on-time delivery (OTD), multiple product quality issues, low customer satisfaction and a declining profit margin.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>A<\/b><\/span>pproach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A new top management team was already addressing the factory layout to optimise flow and enhance housekeeping. Axisto was invited in to improve production control and to develop a more professional middle management team.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We worked closely with the middle managers in Production, Work Preparation and S&amp;OP to better align departments and improve their performance.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">A more effective \u2018short interval control\u2019 was introduced to drive daily and weekly performance to KPI targets. Management and team leaders focussed more on First Time Right quality, and communication between departments was improved. In addition, some team leaders were assigned to other departments to ensure a better fit.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On-Time-Delivery up by 80%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regaining the trust of their clients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple improvements in the production scheduling process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved \u2018short interval control\u2019, internal communications and internal logistics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong local ownership of changes and a solid ongoing improvement process and drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":388,"template":"","service-types":[93],"divicion-categories":[],"class_list":["post-967","case","type-case","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","service-types-manufacturing"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.0 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Improved production control in a metalworking company - Axisto Group<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"A metalworking company had lost control due to little attention to processes and rapid growth.
